Shree Uwasaggaharam Parshwa Shwetambar Jain Tirth
Situated on the bank of river Sheonath, amidst entrancing natural scenery, this Temple/Dehrasar of the 23rd Teerthankar Lord Shree Parshwanath commemorates his holy visit to this region about 3000 years ago as a Shraman (A wandering mendicant dedicated to self-realization through self sacrifice). Scattered Jain Sculpture, large number of devotees and dilapidated ancient temple along with Lord's Foot - prints historically, proves the Lord's journey to this area. The mysterious manner of locating, finding, procuring and then installing this ancient idol also proves categorically, his divine grace. This shrine is virtually an epic of Jain-devotional philosophy engraved on stones. A pilgrimage to this shrine inspires noble conduct, self -discipline, penance and equanimity.
Lord Parshwanath was first named as "UWASAGGHARAM" as per Bhadrabahu Samhita ppp.38.Vo1,111 by the 14th predecessor of Lord Mahaveer's Lineage; Shri Bhadrababhu Swami, UWASAGGAHARAM stands for the Emancipator of all evils. His worship emancipates an individual of evil thoughts and evil actions paving the way for self realization and renunciation.
Lord UWASSAGGAHARAM PARSHWANATH is the main deity, ( MOOL NAYAK ) of this Shwetambar Tirth. As per the Copper-plate records (TAMRA PATRA) this idol was sculpted by King Paradeshi under the guidance of one of Lord's own disciples, Shrimad Kesh Swami and was installed ( ANJAN - SHALAKA ) at Tinduk Udyan at a time when the 24th Teerthankar Lord Mahaveer Swami was of 30 years of age only.
